Przedbórz - the city in Lodz's province. It's situated by the river Pilica by the foot of the Przedborsk-Małogoski's Strip. The city is rich in historycal traditions ( first mentioned in 1136). Merchant waggons had tramped there, knights and kings regiments went across to Piotrkow's debates. In Przedbórz, for the comfort of kings court the castle had been raised. During the years it had become favorite place of stopover for many lord, who were hunting in surroundings forests. The most often visitors of the Przedborsk's castle was Kazimierz The Great and Władysław Jagiełło. Beneficial location by the river helped the city to develope itself. Since 1512 there was the school here. Trade and handicraft were flourishing, the city had become a huge center of brewing. This prosperity had been broken by the swedish invasion, which badly damaged the city and the castle. Not until XIX century changed the industrialization. Near the factories the classical city hall was built as well as slaughters. |
